DAVID J. MERETTA, Associate

David J. Meretta has been with the firm since 2000. Mr.
Meretta concentrates his practice in the areas of franchise and business
law and civil litigation, and also has extensive experience in the areas of
appellate practice, employment discrimination and criminal law. Mr. Meretta has represented franchisees
and franchisee associations throughout the country.
Born in Kalamazoo, Michigan, Mr. Meretta received his undergraduate and
law school education from the University
of Michigan (A.B. with
distinction, 1993; J.D., 1996), and was admitted to the state bars of Michigan and Massachusetts
in 1996 and 2000, respectively. He was a member of the University of Michigan
Marching Band Drumline from 1989 through
1995.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Meretta clerked for the Hon.
Lawrence M. Glazer of the 30th Judicial Circuit Court of Michigan. Mr.
Meretta also independently assisted the defense in Michigan v. Nathaniel Abraham, a widely
publicized case in which an 11-year-old child avoided a potential criminal
sentence of life in prison without parole.
Mr. Meretta volunteers his time with the Boys & Girls
Clubs of Dorchester and the Massachusetts Bar Association.
